White Bim Black Ear

1977 Soviet MOVIE directed by
Stanislav Rostotsky, based upon the book of the same name
written by Gavriil Troyepolsky.
*The movie is just wonderful, I for one think that
it should have won the Best Foreign Language Film Academy
Award (although I have to say I haven't watched the French
winner Get Out Your Handkerchiefs). I do not like
much movies with dogs — because I don't like people
putting dogs to work — but this movie is really touching
and the setter who plays Bim... he is amazing; as they
said [here]: the
dog playing the title role acts as if he must have read
the script. But get out your handkerchiefs, because the
Russian like a tragedy like no one else. Bim is honoured
by shelters named after him and statues; see [here].
